Day One · The Journey Begins

Not the sun —
the Son.

Consciousness. Imagination. The light within.

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”

Genesis 1:3–4

Supporting Verse

“Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”

Galatians 6:8

Reflection

When Genesis says “Let there be light,” it is not describing the sun — the sun wasn’t created until the fourth day. This is a different kind of light. The first light is consciousness itself. Awareness. The capacity to perceive, to imagine, to intend.

And notice what comes next: God divided the light from the darkness. Before anything else was built, a distinction was made — a separation, a choice of what to let in and what to set apart. That same act of dividing is available to you every day. What light are you letting in? What darkness are you setting apart?

Paul understood this when he wrote to the Galatians. The flesh sows to the visible, the immediate, the material. But the Spirit sows to something older and deeper — the same creative force that spoke reality into being. What you plant in your mind and heart today, you will harvest in your life tomorrow.

This is not mysticism. This is the oldest science there is — the science of consciousness, the mechanics of creation, the understanding that what you dwell on, you become. The light was not a physical phenomenon. It was the awakening of mind.

Today’s Contemplation
  • What am i currently sowing — in my thoughts, my words, my habits?
  • Where in my life am i letting the flesh (the immediate, the reactive) override the Spirit (the intentional, the deeper knowing)?
  • What would it look like to plant one seed today — a thought, an act, an intention — that aligns with the harvest i want to reap?
